How can I change my lifestyle?

I'm 15, female, 5'5 and I weigh about 155 pounds. I really want to lose at least 15 to 20 pounds before summer is over or at least tone my body better. I also want to be better at running (if that makes sense). When I say I can't run for more than 1 minute before feeling exhausted, I mean it. I honestly think that is really pathetic and I hate this quality in me. I don't have asthma, or any respiratory issues I can think of, (actually I've been dealing with second hand smoke for my entire life up until about november of last year when I had my tonsillectomy) but I can't run for my life, and I don't know why. It's the worst in gym class when we are tested on our speed/endurance and I can barely finish. I started high school this year and one of the first things we did in P.E was run the track and all that. I was the very last person to finish after about 50 kids in my class. I just wanted to hide in a closet and cry my eyes out. My main goal is to fix the running thing. I was also wondering if I could start a diet of ONLY fruits, vegetables and water? I don't want to become a vegetarian or vegan but I figured an all fruit and veggie diet would be healthier. I want to cut out all junk food and sugary drinks to help make my body healthier. My one concern is about my iron though. I started taking iron supplements last week because I have "iron deficiency". If I cut out some meat products will this be bad for me? I was thinking of changing my diet to some sort of healthy cereal with fruit for breakfast, my lunch to a salad with sliced fruit, and a dinner consisting of vegetables and some iron rich meat. My diet as of now is "don't eat until I'm super hungry and eat microwave chicken nuggets or something unhealthy". I know that's not good at all but that's why I want to change it. Please comment your opinion or any helpful tips, I really want to become a healthier person! I also have a gym membership and I plan on working out everyday for at least an hour except for Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays.

running is really hard uknow, not everyone can do it and u shouldnt just jump into it, u can injure urself. Start off slow and work ur way up. If u have a gym membership, then the treadmill is where to go. Start with just brisk walking, then build up to powerwalking, going at about 4 - 4.5 miles an hour is where u need to slowly work up to, and doing that for an hour is a great way to build fitness and lose weight. U can even just stick with powerwalking but if u feel u need to do more, gradually incorporate jogging into it in bursts, like, powerwalk 10 minutes, jog 5 minutes, and alternate. As u get fitter u can replace more powerwalking minutes with jogging minutes if u want to. Listen to ur body and dont overdo it.As far as diets go, oats are a great breakfast, they fill u up and give u loads of energy. Just cut out fast food and avoid processed food and drinks. Eat real, healthy food and drink plenty of water. I had iron deficiency anemia and i dont eat any red meat anymore and my iron levels are fine. So dont believe what u hear about 'needing' red meat, u can get iron from many other sources. Learn about food and the body, and how to prepare meals, its the best way to know whats good and what isnt.Best of luck and health.
