It seems all diets say eat less. I am told I need to eat more to lose weight!?

I dont understand how eating more helps? Can anyone help me understand without being mean about it,?

If you eat too low of a calorie intake for too long your metabolism slows and you no longer lose weight eating that low. You have to eat more to get your BMR (metabolism) sped up. It happened to me. I ate around 1000 cals for years and never lost weight. When I upped my calories to 1400 cals I began losing. Then I stopped losing at that amount and dropped to 1200 cals. That worked for about 6 weeks and I stopped losing again. I upped my calories back up 1400 and started calorie cycling and lost another 5 lbs in 2 weeks.

You basically have to confuse your metabolism every once in awhile.
