Is Zumba a good way to loose weight?

I''ve lost about 15 more or less and that was basically with just cutting down on what I ate mostly at lunch at school I normally eat Greek yogurt and maybe a cheese stick and some fruit. But I just want to get these ten pounds off faster then what I''ve been doing And I mean in fat not just water weight. Will adding Zumba once or twice a week help me loses it by summer maybe more? I''m around 148 to 151 I would like to reach 138-140. And how many calories. Does an hour class burn? Thanks!

Judging by all of the husky ladies I see taking Zumba classes everyday at the gym, and judging by the fact that these husky ladies never seem to lose a pound, I would guess no. You''re much better off going for a jog for 30 minutes or using the elliptical machine for an hour. Just stick to classic aerobic activities, along with your diet, and you''ll lose the weight more quickly. I''m sorry for sounding mean, but Zumba, at least to me, seems to be a social gathering for big girls to dance. I see the same big girls every day doing the same activities. And if you look at the same big girls 6 months from now, they still look big and are doing the same dances. Running/jogging is the best exercise you can do to lose weight.
