How to find motivation?

Well, I’ve been overweight for a long time now. I’ve gained 120 pounds in the past four years.

Yesterday I looked at pictures of myself three years ago before I gained the bulk of my weight. I was pretty skinny and only slightly overweight. It just makes me think, “What did I do to myself?”

I don’t really have any motivation, and that’s always been one of my problems. I don’t like being active at all. Eating right is really hard because I’ve always been a binger. I can’t just give up food. (It’s not that I eat when I’m hungry. I eat because I feel like I have to.)

I don’t have a lot of money to spend on dieting or fitness programs, and I’ve tried calorie-counting and it doesn’t have an effect on me. (If only there was some magical solution, right?)

I definitely don’t want any diet pills, just some way of motivating myself to lose weight.

My goal is 140 pounds and it’s really depressing knowing that I’d still have to be losing weight two years from now at two pounds a week.

Any advice is welcome!

You''re just going to have to look in the mirror and decide one day "This is the day I change". You have to REALLY want it though, it''s a battle of will and it''s a hard one. Motivation from external sources doesn''t last, you have to be motivated within yourself if you want to stick with it properly.
Just have a bit of willpower. I see these idiots on facebook complaining about how people can''t lose weight, but then they post a picture of themselves eating cake or downing soda. Eat good food and count every calorie and don''t eat any more than about 2000 a day. If you eat good foods, you can stay under this number while still feeling full. Just don''t give in. Once your progress begins to show and you notice your weight dropping fast you''''ll find it much easier to stay motivated. Beginnin is always the hardest part.
