Can eating ice cream the day after I had a good workout, make that workout pointless?

I went to cardio kickboxing yesterday and worked pretty hard. Today now I''m all sore - my abs, shoulders, arms, back, legs - many places. But I''ve heard that if you have something sugary or anything with sugar in it after a workout, you pretty much are throwing away the hard work you just put into that workout. Is this true? For example, I had a dairy queen mini blizzard today and now I''m starting to feel guilty. Is it something I have to totally eliminate from my diet? I eat it once in awhile, not everyday.

I''m 19 if it matters.

How to Lose Weight in 2 Weeks by Eating Healthy Food

It doesnt make it pointless but it does slow down your toning process significantly! Sugar turns into fat when not burned off within a small amount of time. Try to stick to treating yourself 2 times per week. The most you should be having is a couple squares of dark chocolate or a small cup of ice cream once a day, twice a week. "Abs are made in the gym but they will only show in the kitchen" If you build your muscle underneath it wont mean anything if it is covered in a layer of fat. Eat clean, train mean.

  • Actually, having something sugary directly after the workout isn''t a bad thing. A day after may be a bit long, but many distance runners drink chocolate milk after a run because of the high amount of carbs and protein.
  • eating ice cream every once in a while will not affect your weight. eating it everyday will
