I overfed by 500 calories..will i gain weight immediately?

I workout 6x a week (cardio and weight training), i usually eat 4-5 times a day reaching 1200 caloric intake because i'm trying to lose weight. This evening, i totaled my caloric intake for today and was so disappointed that I overfed by 500+ calories.

Will I gain weight immediately even if the food i ate today are mostly lean meats and vegetables (low carbs)?

Tips on How to Lose Weight Fast for the New Year

Recommanded Answer:
No. It takes 3,500 calories to gain 1 lb.

Even if you ate something like an additional 800 calories more, it wouldn't tip the scales. If you are exercising properly, your weight maintenance at that level (6x a week) should be roughly at 1,800 - 2,000 calories a day. Of course, I do not know how much body fat % you are currently at, so that is also another factor, the lower body fat % the more calories you can take for a while without adding on fat.

1,200 is very low for that level of activity. Try making it at least 1,300 calories and target losing 1 lb per week, do not overdo it, 1 lb is the max healthy way to lose weight.

PRO TIP: If you overeat, walk it off. Or when you wake up, exercise for at least 15 mins before eating breakfast, that way you burn the reserves you put in yesterday. Warm up first of course.

  • You don't beat yourself up for one day, let it go.
  • Why dont u burn it offf?

    Do cardio ?
  • At most one or two oz. Easy to burn off.
