How can a 14 year old girl lose at least 10-15 pounds before summer ?

I weigh 119 and I am 4''11 . I would like to get skinnier to feel comfortable in a bathing suit and well not just that . I want to feel comfortable in my own skin ! My mom does not have a car and there''s no grocery market nearby that we can walk to , so we usually order pizza. I''m tired of getting fast food and want to eat healthier but it''s really hard in my situation . Any tips for me to help me lose weight ?

  • You need to go to a doctor and have them determine if you truly need to lose weight. From there they will tell you what type of diet you should be on. Considering you are 14 years old, you should not worry about your weight at only 119 pounds but that is my personal opinion. Good luck!

To answer both your questions Linda:

You may be able to walk miles without getting tired because you have a lot of "slow twitch" muscle. Women tend to have more than men, and it is partially genetic as well. Slow twitch muscle uses oxygen, oxidative phosphorylation, and can endure. Fast twitch uses glycolysis.

On the other hand, I bet you get tired from doing fast, explosive moves like raquetball, sprinting, and fast aerobic workouts.

To lose weight you need to do AEROBIC (cardio) exercises on nearly a daily basis. This will initiate oxidative phosphorylation (fat burn) within the cells. Get your heart rate around 100-140 bpm for 1-2 hrs. *walking/anaerobic doesn’t do much weight wise.
You also need to reduce intake of sugars, bad carbs and saturated fats. Drink water. Eat healthy. Eating way too little can cause weight retention. You CANNOT lose weight in one specific part of your body, but rather evenly across the body. Counting calories? Just keep ‘em moderate and do the aforementioned.
Some examples of aerobic exercises are running, zumba, dance, hard swimming, p90x, insanity, sports et cetera. Get your heart a pumpin’.
It will take dedication but the payoff is well worth it. Easy things are not worthwhile.

Hi All..This is the question asked by many readers here.
I was overweight for most of my time in the life because I have been fed on junk for a lot many years it was lately when i realized that I need to lose weight and lost 20 kgs by excercising.(that was when I was a student).But since I started to work it was difficult for me to cope up going to the gym and quit it..but then in less than 6 months I regained all of the weight. And now I cannot get rid of the food.I am an indian and a real fan of food.
Lately I have tried taking the wheatgrass shots..Do they really help..
I avoid sugar and oily stuff and avoid rice too(most of the time)
Can you all help me out with an excercise plan and a diet that I can follow to lose weight.
I neeed to lose atleast 20Kg''s in 6 months.
