How to lose 80lbs in 4-6 months?

I weigh 175lbs and I want to lose 80lbs. I'm 5'4. I've been 95lbs before I gained all of my weight and it looked really good on me. I wanted to know what kind of diet would work to lose the weight? I walk about 2 miles a day at a fast pace. And I'm going to run a couple times a week. I want to do this a healthyish way so the weight stays off. I was thinking about eating mostly veggies and A LOT of water. I want to lose this weight as soon as possible:)

How to Lose Weight in Your Legs in a Week

Recommended Answer:

Hannah at your age the odds of ever weighing 95 lbs again are pretty much gone.Look at your parents and extended family. That is the genetically coded size and shape you have. Keep in mind if they are overweight and out of shape doesn't mean you have to be.80% of weight loss is diet. You can eat a healthy diet and lose weight. You can eat a healthy diet and exercise and lose more weight. You can exercise and eat a poor diet and not lose and even gain weight. A good healthy diet high in fiber, lean meats, eggs, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, antioxidant foods, healthy beverages and low in added sugar and salt help people lose weight, lower cholesterol, increase energy, improve brain function, lower blood pressure, reduce cancer risk and have a more positive lifestyle! You need to eat a lot more food and a lot more fiber! Diets that exclude foods from any food group are fad diets and do not lead to permanent weight loss or solve any other health issues. First, try to kick your fiber intake to 40 grams of both soluble and insoluble fiber. Whatever you do, get your fiber from your food, not from a jar. Fruits and vegetables have good fiber in them. A high fiber diet increases the metabolism. Try a breakfast cereal with at least 20% of recommended daily allowance of fiber in it. They are usually low in sugar so there is a double benefit. Blueberries or raspberries on top add more fiber and antioxidants. But fresh or frozen, not the kind in syrup. Oatmeal with berries or a bit of fresh honey is also good. Raw nuts are a great source of fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. Avocados are the best. Lots of beans, peas, and grains are high fiber. Whole grain breads. Fiber kicks up the metabolism so you actually burn more calories. These foods will give you more gas in the beginning but if eaten daily, the bacteria in the digestive tract will elevate lowering the gas output. This will get you on the path for a healthy daily bowel movement. This helps clean the system and aids healthy digestion. A high fiber diet reduces transit time - the amount of time it takes food from when it is eaten to when it is expelled. This reduces toxicity in the system both from internally produced, ingested, and external toxins. I know it goes against everything you've heard or read but eating lots of the right foods will actually help you lose weight! Next, take an age appropriate basic daily multivitamin. Don't look at your multivitamin as nutrition but more as an insurance policy. Think of it as filling in the gaps in your daily diet as opposed to a primary source of nutrients. You have to drink lots of water to be healthy. But you can disguise it. Fill your glass all the way full with ice before pouring low sugar beverages. Try iced green tea with a splash of orange juice in it for sweet. More antioxidants. Add lemon juice to water for flavor. Slice up a cucumber and float it in pitcher of water. Gives it salty fresh taste. But you must drink up to 100 oz of water daily to help your body get rid of waste and the natural toxins. Last, you need to get 8-9 hours of quality sleep depending on your age. All recent sleep studies report a connection between poor sleep patterns and weight gain. This includes going to bed as close to the same time every night including weekends. Most of us stay up late Friday and Saturday night and it throws us off. You must combine a healthy diet with exercise to multiply the benefit. Whether an hour a day in the weight room or just a 30 minute brisk walk every day, the added benefit of a regular exercise program really do increase and accelerate healthy weight loss. I lost 30 pounds in five months by spending my money at the grocery and gym and have kept it off for three years. Less than three% of people that attempt weight loss lose it and keep it off for two years. It is not easy. It is a lifestyle change. Good luck and good health.

Wieght loss question?

I've been working out since about the sixth grade. I'm about to be in eighth next year and I havent lost very much weight the entire time. I know I'm growing, but the size of my legs have grown quite large, while my top half has stayed the same, if not slimmed down. What exactly am I doing wrong? My bottom half keeps growing and I have no clue why, while my top half is still slim as ever.

How to Lose Weight Properly

Recommended Answer:

If you are eating a good and proper diet and getting a reasonable amount of exercise, you're growth is being determined by your genes. We are all 99% nature (genetics) and 1% nurture (changeable). Here is what we can do to sculpt our bodies.1. Add fat - Adding fat for all but the extreme ectomorph is a simple matter of eating too many calories over a long period of time. We have no control over where the fat will be deposited on our body.2. Lose fat - Fat loss must begin with diet. Exercise can help but no exercise can make someone lose fat if they eat too many calories. We have no control over where the fat leaves our body.3. Add muscle - Adding muscle size requires a commitment to very hard strength training (anaerobics). We don't get big muscles from aerobic ("cardio") exercise. It only comes very slowly from working out against substantial resistance.4. Lose muscle - There is no healthy way to lose natural (genetic) muscle. We can, however, allow our muscles to atrophy or grow smaller by not using them. We can also "waste" muscle by starving them of nutrition. These, of course, are not a healthy options but they are the only way to make lean muscle smaller (less volume). That's it. That's all we can do without surgery. However, they have bodies which are quite different owing to genetics and not to external factors. Good luck and good health!!♠

How do I make my boobs smaller without surgery or losing weight?

I'm starting to outgrow my 34DD cups. I would like to shrink them down a cup size or two. I'm not having any back problems, but my boobs just look too big for my body, they keep getting in the way, and they bounce. However, I would like to not have surgery. And I've already tried losing weight and they don't get smaller (but they do get bigger when I gain weight). So any advice at all please? Thanks.

1. DON'T TAKE SUPPLEMENTS All US federal health agencies warn against using supplements without the recommendation of a health care professional because supplements are not approved by the FDA, are virtually unregulated, do not have the protections afforded foods and drugs, are not recommended by the US National Institute of Health, do not require any testing, are often contaminated, may not even be what the label says, usually contain cheap ingredients, are often over priced scams, have been known to be dangerous, and can have numerous adverse or unwanted side effects. DON'T EXPECT MUSCLE BUILDING TO HELP LOSE FATThe key to fat loss is not exercise, it's diet.Any exercise will burn calories but no exercise will burn fat unless your diet allows it. You can burn fat in your sleep or you can run all day and never burn any fat. It all depends on your diet. Fat loss is determined by calorie control, not by exercise. Good exercises for burning calories are speed walking, biking, swimming, dancing, etc. and ANY other physical activity which makes you move a lot of weight for a long time. But NO exercise is good for burning fat if you eat too many calories because you can always eat more calories than you can burn but you can't always burn as many as you take in.Too many people waste energy and time because they do not understand this one simple point. The result is too often giving up in frustration, abandoning gym memberships they continue to pay for, and many other unnecessary problems not the least of which is a lack of success. An average person must walk about five miles every day for a week to burn the calories equivalent to a pound of body fat. So, unless you think walking about five miles a day (or doing an equivalent amount of exercise) with no guarantee of fat loss makes sense, focus your fat loss program on diet.Diet for fat loss. Exercise for fitness. When training for strength, muscle requires time to recover. So, the most a person can train for strength is about 2 hours per week. That's about two full body workouts not counting wasted time spotting, jawing, showering, etc.If you just want to burn calories, walk and walk far.3. THE BEST WORKOUT IS THE ONE YOU MAKE FOR YOURSELFYou are unique...both in goals and in physiognomy. That means your "best" workout has to be tailored to you and your unique needs, resources, body type, physiology, diet, etc. And, you're probably not going to find anyone to make your ideal workout simply because there aren't many people who know how to make even a good workout. People who can do that have so much knowledge, they don't waste time designing workouts for people. That means you need to study and become your own personal trainer.Your body has no choice but to follow your brain. So, you should feed your brain a steady diet of good information if you want to be all you can be. It's YOUR body and it has to last a lifetime so it's worth the investment. Don't ask questions of random strangers with no credibility in this or other online forums. Use high quality resources for information instead. The basic principles of health, fitness, and nutrition are not that difficult or hard to understand. Avoid the internet unless you're using trusted sites in dot gov or dot edu domains. The dot coms are usually driven by profit motive and you'll find bad information in most websties including WebMD, Livestrong, Bobybuilding.com, etc. and especially in this forum and others like it. And, avoid magazine and other cheap commercial informational products about fitness, glamour, muscle building, fashion and fads. Don't be part of the "herd" unless you want to look, feel, and perform like the "herd".Use books, especially late edition text books on subjects such as nutrition, anatomy, kinesiology, and physiology...especially exercise physiology. You can find excellent information resources at your local public or Uni library or for sale cheap online at Amazon.com and Ebay.com. Always follow the science. Use critical thinking. Be skeptical and do not believe anything without cross checking it with trusted sources. Grow your personal knowledge base and everything else will follow with relative ease. You have one body and it has to last a lifetime. It's worth the investment to learn how to care for it properly. Good luck and good health!!♠

8 Top Tips to Help You Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
I''m on the same diet right now, going on a month. I lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks. 15 total

  • You''ll probably gain weight! When you eat too few calories your body ''thinks'' it''s starving and your metabolism slows down to nearly nothing.
  • That''s terrible don''t do that. 100 pounds isn''t even close to being overweight. You need to eat properly so your body can grow. Do you want to be 5''0 forever? Please eat and don''t stunt your growth :)
  • First of all, you will burn more than that a day, just by walking and existing basically.

Secondly, it all depends on exactly how active you are. But I would estimate about 2 pounds a week.

Thirdly, you are very small already. Don''t lose weight.

Anybody help me i need to lose weight~!?

Okay so I have big thighs, and fatty arms(not flabby tho) i need to lose weight
1. What is the exercise thats most effective to lose thigh n arm fat without looking too muscular(i mean to look naturally thin)?
2. My friend eats eggs only for the WHOLE day . Well basically she eats eggs for bfast, lunch and dinner. Maybe she eats some snacks like fruits or whatsoever during the day but she did lose alot of weight and looked super thinner. Is this right? Can i just eat eggs basically for the whole day?
3. What is another type of food that I could eat for the whole day everyday to lose weight? Maybe potatoes?
4. How to make my jaw smaller? Can that rolling thing that "massages" your face work?

Thanks for your answers! Please no trolls! :)

How to Lose Weight?

Maybe a treadmill? Don''t eat small snack throughout the whole day. Eat main meals and eat slowly because your body will recognize when you''re full faster instead of overeating. The meals can be fruit and eggs and maybe some grain like an egg sandwich with some apple slices or other fruit on the side. Drink tons of water instead of having snacks because you will feel full and be healthier and if you don''t like water you could have a diet soda once. Fruit smoothies are also good but make sure that''s not the only thing you have in the morning. Starving yourself isn''t effective because once you lose all that weight and start eating normally (as you did before) again, you will eventually gain all that back. Well I have a tiny jaw and I don''t really like it. It''s hard to yawn. But I guess if you loose weight you''re face will also loose fat like on you''re cheeks for example and you will decrease in size all around if you do enough exercise. Keep in mind if you change you''re body drastically like over the summer people will notice and think you became anorexic or something but even though some people may think that, it doesn''t matter because they are probably just jealous of how good you will look.If you want to loose fat in you''re legs to sports that require a lot of leg movement and workout longer than 30 minutes because in that time you only loose what you have eaten during the day, so to loose more weight you need to burn all those calories from before. Make sure you eat healthy if you are going to loose a lot of weight. Best of luck xo

Am I anorexic? This is a serious question?

Hi, we''ll I''m really concerned about this question, and I''m wondering if I might be anorexic?
Back when I was a kid, I was chubby, but didnt really notice or care. It was until freshman year in high school when I started to notice that guys my age were a lot skinnier. So I decided to go on a diet, and I restricted my caloric intake to 1200 per day. I started to loose weight slowly. But I felt it wasn''t fast enough and so I started eating 1,000 calories per day. I progressed for the worse. I started walking a little over two hours everyday to burn calories, and started skipping meals. I was eating 800 calories a day now.I was horrified to eat food. I was aware of all the calories in every food. Everyone was flooding me with compliments, and I finally reached my goal weight within two months. I went from 155 lbs to 120 lbs. But this wasn''t skinny enough for me now.
Summer break came, and I decided to get a "fit" body before school started again. I constantly starved myself, but would constantly binge out of hunger and felt horrible when I did. I felt fat. Everyone told me I wasn''t. Arguments with my mother about food became common. I didnt care.
School started Annd I was still 120lbs. Everyone was amazed at how I lost so much weight over the summer as well, and how tall I had gotten it. I had gotten taller, but stayed at the same weight. I was happy of the compliments, but felt fat.
Now, a year after I initially lost weight, I feel obese. I have started cutting meals again. I look at all the skinny people and feel fat. I''ve started to work out now, and went on an extreme diet. My friends have show concern about my eating habits, but I don''t care. I just want to be skinny. I am on a 1,000 calorie diet, at least 30 minutes of exercise per day, and have successfully lost 4lbs in a little over a week and a half. My goal weight is 105lbs, and I am 5''6. I feel fat, I don''t know what to do,.I want to be skinny. I feel fat.But BMI''s say I''m healthy weight. Am I anorexic?

Why You Must Exercise to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Not exactly but you shouldnt be starving yourself if you didnt know this but when you skip meals or start starving yourself you Gain More Weight because your body is starving and needs food. And plus you shouldnt care about what other people look like and dont compare yourself to other people BE Happy with yourself :) Right now im losing weight but im just watching my calories like you too but dont skip any meals and defintiely dont Starve yourself!! Anorexia can make you very very sick. And the problem seems to be mostly that you have a low self esteem and its hard espically when your in high school becasue you see guys or girls and wanna look good to but thats why you should just take one day at a time :) Hope this helped and i hope you get better :)

  • You might be, ask a doctor.
  • it seems like you have a problem. http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ you are very underweight you need to gain about 30 pounds. if you feel sick its probably because your underweight. you need therapy for your self esteem or it will take you to very bad places
  • I dont think you are anorexic but i think you may have a different type of ed. You should talk to someone like a trusted adult, guidance coucilor or dr. what you are doing is not healthy, and its slowing your metaolism down. you may be losing weight now, but you will start gaining since you messed up your metabolism. 1000 calories isnt cutting back too much because i only eat 400 calories a day, but still you need to talk to someone.
