Does a growth spurt help you lose fat and weight?

I'm about 5'2, and a 15 year old guy. I run Varsity Track and workout 5 to 6 times a week. For some reason I just cannot lose weight. I've changed my diet and lose more calories than I intake daily. But I just can't seem to lose it. Will my growth spurt help me on the journey to losing weight? My friend was overweight but over the summer he grew a few inches and now he is really skinny. I thought maybe he worked out more than me, but I've ran most of the summer, played basketball almost everyday, and ate more veggies and fruit. So will a growth spurt help me to lose weight?

I want to loose some weight. What kind of weight loss regimins or techniques would you recommend?

Ok so Im 15, male and I just kinda want to lose wait quite quickly. I'm not like obese or extremely overweight but there is definetley a bit of weight on my stomach and legs. I don't really have access to a gym as the only one near me requires you to be 18 to enter for some reason and plus that gym is like two and a half hours away from me :(. what is better...to eat fewer calories than you burn or the amount you burn?

I'm trying to lose fat weight in my abdomen (under my abs) it pokes my belly out. I also want to gain muscle and I workout hard. I probably burn a total of 2300 calories a day and lately I have been eating 1700 or 1800 calories a day so that I can burn fat. It doesnt seem to work. what am I doing wrong?
