Why do people say things like this in here?

Why do they say things like, "You should be grateful people call you ugly and don't lie about it."It's nothing to be grateful for. I've tried with hairstyles, makeup, weight loss and nothing is working for me. Why should I be grateful for being constantly reminded of that. And please don't say "people hate you because you look unfriendly" because when I smile they just think I'm crazy for being ugly + happy.
