Trying to lost 50 lbs by my 17th birthday in April?

I keep trying to do Insanity but end up injuring myself everytime, so I have decided to lose 50 lbs and try and get more physically fit before I get into it. I think that may be part of my problem. I will be doing swim team from November-March so that will be of some help, but beyond that I was trying to come up with a good work out plan.I am thinking going for a walk three times a week and slowly work my way from walk to jog to run.50 crunches, 50 jumping jacks, 50 squats & 50 mountain climbers every day - spread throughout the day. So like 15 in the morning when I wake up, 15 in the evening before I go to bed, and the rest of the 20 during commercial breaks on hulu.I walk to and from school which is .5 miles from where I live. School starts the 15th meaning from then on I will walk at least 1 mile every day 5 days a week.Is there any other advice you can give me, any changes you would make? Does this sound like a good plan? Thanks!

I love your plan. Here's my suggestion. School gets really busy, so also have a plan for when you can't do all those things. What's your realistic minimum workout - walking for 15-30 minutes? some jumping jacks and push ups before bed? This will help you not burn out and give up.I do the same thing. When I'm too busy or not feeling well, I just walk, but I feel good about it.If you want an easy structure for eating (to help with the weight loss), you're welcome to look at this page I wrote for teens:http://www.grand-slam-weight-loss-tips.com/easy-weight-loss-for-teens.htmlWe have another page you might like - how to start running:http://www.grand-slam-weight-loss-tips.com/how-to-start-running.htmlHave a great swim season, and you'll do great with your exercising at home! Just don't feel bad if you have to skip a day or two (or three). Just get up the next day and start again.Wendy :)
