Definitely go!!! Ovarian cancer is nothing to wait around for. I don't mean to scare you, but don't let body image stop you from potentially saving your life. Think about it this way: on the off chance you do have ovarian cancer, the symptoms will worsen so badly that you will have to go anyway. So either way you need to visit the doctor. They'll probably do an ultrasound and blood work. Nothing major and will take only a few minutes.I'm at a normal weight, and I still feel weird having a stranger, like a dermatologist or OB-GYN, see my body. But they have seen hundreds of women and nothing phases them. They have seen it all and then some. Doctors are trained to be 100% professional, and they understand that many patients do feel self-conscious. Perhaps bring it up with your doctor when you go. She may help put your fears at ease. But I think every woman, no matter how she looks, is a little nervous going to the gynecologist. It's normal and you're not alone. I wish you the best of luck!Other Answers:
- I'm very self conscious too but this is very serious. Cancer is a serious problem and you need to get it checked out.
