How to Help Your Dachshund Lose Weight
Recommended Answer:
What you are looking to do is definitely achievable, but will take dedication. If you don't want to put on any extra muscle, then what you're looking for is cardio workouts. Running is a good cardio workout, but like you said, will definitely beef up your leg muscles. If that isn't something you're looking for, then I do have a few other options.Get a jump rope. Use it everyday, starting out at like 5 minutes (doesn't sounds like much, but do 5 minutes straight and you'll be pretty winded) and build your way up to like 10-15 minutes each day. Jump rope is one of the best cardio (and fat burning) exercises you can do. I did boxing for a few years, and we all jumped rope to get in shape. Also do swimming. Its a good overall toning workout, won't make you bulky, and is easy on your joints. Combine this with your jumping rope, and you'll get toned in no time:).As far as diet is concerned, don't get too scrupulous and picky. Basically cut soda out of your diet completely, most sugary foods, and don't eat too much fatty foods like mayonnaise and cream cheese. Some is fine, just don't have two bagels from DD for breakfast ;). Also another trick is to try curbing your afternoon hunger with a veggie snack with maybe just a little more substance. One I like is celery sticks with peanut better. Yum!! Good source of protein, too. Or maybe an apple along with a piece of toast. I wouldn't get overly concerned with 'calorie counting' - also make sure you're drinking enough water to keep your body hydrated so it can burn fat. Hope that helps :).Other Answers:
