How fast should a seventh grade boy run?

I'm going into seventh grade in late August, and I have Physical Education as a subject, and I know that we will be running laps and this is just a warm-up, not lick competitive cross country or track. Anyways, in sixth grade, I was 4'10, and weighed about 95 pounds. I ran a lap in 1:40 if I tried, 2:00 at the most. I don't think that this affected me, because I am skinny and I checked my BMI and it was at a healthy weight. Going into seventh grade, I am 5'0 and 98 pounds. I keep losing weight, because I am eating healthier and sticking to a healthy ab workout and arm workout. I don't run often, because it's summer, so I may be a little out of shape for running, but anyways...How fast should the average seventh grade male run a lap and a mile? (Any answer to lap/mile is fine.) Thanks for anyone who answers! I thought I should include that my dad does smoke, and sometimes it is around me, and I guess it's second-hand smoking, and it may make my breathing during running not the best, but I do not have ANY breathing problem when not running, but when I run, I do get out of breathe, probably around the end of the second lap, start of the third lap, but I think that it's because I am literally out of breathe, just like everyone gets after running a lot.

You should probably be around 8 minutes or so for the mile. It doesn't sound like you participate too regularly in speed or endurance based sports, but if you do (or if you decide to try soccer, track, cross country, or anything along those lines) then you'll probably drop the mile down to well under 7 this year. In addition, as you just grow more you'll get faster - middle school miles in PE always seemed kind of dumb to me because you have such a mix of kids, with kids who need to shave twice a day and look about 16 and kids who are just starting to hit puberty, which leads to vastly different fitness conditioning levels amongst middle schoolers. But the average seventh grade guy can probably sprint a single lap in ~70 seconds and run a mile at a pace of about 1:45 / lap (that's about a 7 minute mile). The more athletic guys will be around six minutes, with a few under six, and the more out of shape guys will be around 9. But anything from ~6:30 - 8:30 is probably the mid range.
