How do i begin with losing weight?

Im 14 and i wanna know how to lose weight. First of all, ive quit cold turkey both smoking weed and drinking. The main reason ive gained weight is from munching while high on weed. Its not until now that i realized that ive gained weight. I weigh 165 and i am 5"8 . I dont count calories and i usually eat fast foods everyday (and a lot of it) . I want to basically burn a pound of fat a week. I know that ill need to burn 500 caloies a day. And i know for example that i can remove 200 calories from my diet and lose 300 calories and i would still lose a pound in a week. I want to burn 300 calories a day and eat 200 less than usual instead of burning 500 but i want to know how many calories i should be eating for this to apply....and i dont want to starve my self either (:

Losing weight is all about using up MORE energy than you put IN. IE, eat less, exercise more. It's also important to consider WHAT you're putting in. If you're just eating junk food, then you're going to have a hard time losing weight. First, stop eating junk food and start eating more veges. You don't have to cold turkey the fast food, just cut it down to maybe 2 times a week, then once a week, then once a fortnight etc. Make it so fast food is a treat, rather than a staple. Eventually you'll find the taste of it rather revolting and find fresh fruit and veges taste amazing. If you can, try cut down the saturated fat in your diet. You don't want to cut fat out entirely, because you need some polyunsaturated, monounsaturated fats (stay away from transfatty acids!). Also, you want to switch to wholegrain/wholemeal pasta and bread, if you can. Wholegrain has less calories than white bread, and has more fiber. Try get your mum to buy leaner meat for your protein, ie skinless chicken, salmon, cans of tuna, etc. As far as exercise goes, try take up a sport that you like. Try out a martial art, taekwon-do is a crazy cardio workout, and it's really fun sparring (fighting with protective gear) with people. It's also a confidence booster knowing you can kick-ass if it comes to it. Another option is going for runs/walks around your neighbourhood. If you have a smartphone (iphone/android) download the STRAVA app. It tracks where you run, how fast you're going, the elevation of your run and uploads it to your STRAVA account. It's a really good way to keep motivated and you'll find yourself trying to beat person bests (like 1 mile run, 2 mile, 5 kilometer etc)You could go to the gym, but I find it to be really boring and it's hard to motivate yourself to keep going, especially when you're sore. It's better to play a sport, that way you're getting the exercise, hanging out with friends and having fun all at once.Sorry for the long answerGood luck
