How can I lose 15 pounds in 4 weeks?

So I start school August 26 and i want to lose about 15 pounds (really, 16 pounds to be exact). i have 4 weeks. I'm 5'2 and weigh 131.0 pounds on a moderate stomach. I want to be at an even, healthy weight. Right now I'm almost overweight. I want to be at a normal weight. Will running and doing 30 min of exercise and eating right be enough? Thanks!

Well it will be difficult and you will need work very hard but it is not impossible if you're committed. You may not lose 15 lbs exactly (b/c that would be extreme rapid weight loss) but you could definitely lose 12 pounds if you're 100% committed and focused and if you're lucky and your body responds well maybe 15 pounds. Here is a plan/tip to help that happen:Week 1-Run 3 miles 5 days a weekWalk 3 miles 2 days a weekDo 30 minutes of Pilates 5 days a week (you get a video from the library or youtbe they have them)Do 30 minutes of Biking/Swmming/Playing a sport 2 days a weekWeek 2Run 4 miles 6 days a weekWalk 4 miles 1 day a weekDo 30 minutes of Pilates 5 days a week (you get a video from the library or youtbe they have them)Do 30 minutes of Biking/Swmming/Playing a sport 2 days a weekWeek 3Run 5 miles 6 days a weekWalk 5 miles 1 day a weekDo 30 minutes of Pilates 5 days a week (you get a video from the library or youtbe they have them)Do 30 minutes of Biking/Swmming/Playing a sport 2 days a weekWeek 4Run 3 Miles 1 days a weekRun 4 miles 2 days a weekRun 5 miles 3 day a a weekWalk 4 miles 2 days a weekDo 30 minutes of Pilates 5 days a week (you get a video from the library or youtbe they have them)Do 30 minutes of Biking/Swmming/Playing a sport 2 days a weekEverydayDrink 6 cups of waterDon't drink any soda or juiceDrink 2 cups of green tea w/ mint and some sweet and low(get 8 hours a sleep every night- a full night sleep will reduce stress and increase weight loss)Follow This Meal Plan for The Next Month:Monday Breakfast- Oatmeal (1 cup cooked w/ water), 1 cup of berriesLunch- whole wheat bread with tuna, light mayo, lettuce and tomato, 10 baby carrots, hummusSnack- apple and string cheeseDinner- 3 oz. grilled chicken, 6 broccoli trees, baked sweet potato w/ cinnamon and tsp. butterSnack- Greek vanilla yogurt and bananaTuesdayBreakfast- 2 scrambled eggs, slice of toast, orangeLunch- peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cluster of grapesSnack- baby carrots, celery sticks w/ fat free ranch Dinner- 3 oz. baked fish, side salad, low fat dressing, 3/4 cup of cooked yellow riceSnack- apple and 1/4 cup almondsWednesdayBreakfast- 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of raisin bran, strawberriesLunch- 3 oz. turkey on whole wheat w/ lettuce and tomato, cherry tomatoes, hummusSnack- apple and tbsp. peanut butterDinner- garden burger on whole grain bun, cup of cooked cauliflower/brococli/carrots/peas mixtureSnack- string cheese and crackersThursdayBreakfast - whole wheat bagel w/ cream cheese, orangeLunch- salad w/ grilled chicken breast and low fat dressing, appleSnack- yogurtDinner- vegetarian chili, carrots and low fat ranch dipSnack- banana and 1 tbsp. peanut butterFridayBreakfast- 2 scrambled eggs, slice of toast, orangeLunch- 3 oz. turkey on whole wheat w/ lettuce and tomato, cherry tomatoes, hummusSnack- Greek vanilla yogurt, bananaDinner - 1 slice of pizza, side saladSnack- apple, 1 tbsp. peanut butterWeekends- Don't Diet, Just Watch What You Eat

  • 15/4=3.75 pounds per week. 1 pound is 3500 cals, 3500x 3.75= 13175 calsCut 13175 cals out of your diet per week or exercise to burn it
  • Haha! I'm exactly like you! I started at 150 and now I'm at 125-130. I haven't weighed myself so I don't know. I am 5'2 as well. This is what I did; I believe it will work for you too. - I set a calorie limit for each day. I counted calories so I actually couldn't really eat out or ate anything if I didn't know the calories. - Do NOT go under 1000 calories! You will enter starvation mode and it will make you gain weight. - Eat between 1100-1400. At least this is how it is for me. Research how many calories you should eat to maintain weight and eat a bit under that (if you want to lose). - If you want to speed up the process, exercising (at least for a little while) each day is perfect! Keeps the metabolism going. - Honestly, I've lost 20 poundd eating what I want to eat! I don't even eat fruits or vegetables because I hate them. I simply count calories. - Don't stress. You are doing a great thing. Also, don't weigh yourself often. Do it at most ONCE a month. If you do that, it will be better, trust me. If not, you might get discouraged. - Wanna know how to not gain back the weight after you lose what you want to lose? Like I said, research how many calories you have to eat in order to MAINTAIN your weight. Once you feel like you look fine (don't worry about the weight, it's just if you see yourself good in the mirror), don't go over the maintaining weight. YOU WILL BE FINE! Don't lose hope; it took me many tries! I'm going to tell you that it is hard! But it is do-able! It took me a long time to lose weight because I kept failing. Don't give up! :)
  • I'm done with my weight loss journey and completely happy with how I feel and how I look right now however losing weight is a challenge for anyone and even losing 5 pounds and keeping it off isn't an easy task. Also I bet you didn't know that 5 pounds of fat is about the size of 8 cheese burgers? That alone should be enough to make anyone want to get on the ball and start a change for the better. Weight loss can be really easy to learn but the problem is nobody wants to put the required effort that is needed to actually do it, instead people continually look for (easy) ways to do it. If there was an easy way to lose weight I don't think 35% of Americans would be obese. There was a time when I also wanted to lose weight and was tired of starting diets only to lose motivation and give up just a few weeks later after seeing no results. However, let me tell you it is literally one of the easiest things you will ever learn once you find a good and reputable place to learn it from and I say that only because the world is filled with magic diet pills, liquid flush diets and a thousand other quick fixes that promise xx pounds of weight loss in the first week and even though it is impossible they know you're going to do it because your desperate. I have probably tried every diet pill, liquid flush diet, and ab rocket machine known to man and have had no success with any of them nor do I know anyone that has ever had any success with them. I have also tried starving myself which works very well for the first few weeks' right before your metabolism comes to a complete stop and eating just the tiny bit makes you gain weight and you end up weighing more than you did before you started starving yourself. Companies promote weight loss to make money not to get people healthy again and that's because they know you're not going to be a customer and buy their products if you're no longer fat. http://fatloossfactor.com is a site I want you to go to when you have 10 or 20 minutes to spare and I want you to sit down and watch his video on weight loss. He helps people every day to lose weight I have never seen someone as committed as him and that will go so far out of his way to help someone. His weight loss program is one of the best I have ever had the enjoyment of doing and it is without doubt the best success I have ever had with any weight loss program. I also couldn't be happier with my body right now and I have never felt this wonderful in my whole life. In the end you just got to remember to stick with it and stay confident in yourself and in no time you can achieve the results you have always wanted. It's not hard to lose weight but most people have a hard time staying motivated and 9 times out of 10 it was because they weren't really committed from the beginning. Anyways I hope I helped you and I hope you make the commitment to change your body and life. Remember it's not easy to take the first step but you did, you're here right now taking it and the rest of the steps will fall into place. Have a wonderful day.
  • That should be plenty enough! For your height range, a weight of 110-140 is normal. It is safe to lose 1-2 pounds a week. In 4 weeks, if you were at a rate of losing 2 pounds a week, you'd lose 8-10 pounds which is certainly close. And the rest you could work off probably without anyone ever noticing!
