Can you explain calories in and out, dmr, and weight loss? Am I correct?

On webmd(http://www.webmd.com/diet/healthtool-metabolism-calculator), it says my DMR is around 2000. Which is the amount of calories I lose basically doing nothing. However, on http://www.nbc.com/the-biggest-loser/exclusives/resources/calculator/bmr/ my bmr is around 1800.. Which is MOST accurate? I've been trying to follow a fitness planner on webmd.. so I just keep it at 2000....Many sites say that it takes 3500 calories out, to lose 1lb/week. Which means I need to burn 500 calories a day? I want to lose 2lb, therefore, it would take 7000 calories out which requires you to burn 1000 calories a day. Using 2000 as an example, It would require me to eat AT LEAST 1400 calories per day. Since I am burning 600 calories by doing nothing, that would require me to burn 400 calories excising? I plan on: taking 4 mile walks, and eventually get up there to running, zumba classes, strength training, and more. Does this sound good? I'm sorry if I sound uneducated or dumb because this whole process is entirely new to me. Thanks

How to Lose Weight Drastically

Recommended Answer:

1,800 calories per day is the average BMR for women2,000 calories per day is the average BMR for menWhich one is more accurate?Well that depends if you are a man or a woman... Stay under whichever calorie limit is for you and you will lose weight, even without exercise. You lose about 1.5 to 2 pounds of fat per week (with constant healthy foods and exercise). Also don't bother trying to calculate how many calories your going to burn exactly. Unless you plan on taking measurements of how many calories are used every time you move any muscle; its completely pointless. The important thing to keep in mind is staying under your BMR limit by 200 or 300 calories. That will ensure you lose weight always and keep your metabolism high. Only exercise full body cardio exercises (no sit ups, push ups or sitting on bikes pedaling, ONLY RUNNING, SWIMMING, JUMP ROPE, JUMPING JACKS, etc) and eating 5 healthy meals (salads, vegetables) every day to keep your metabolism running fast.

Other Answers:

  • 1,800 is probably your best bet when it comes to your bmr but I can't be sure because I don't know your age, height, or weight. Don't eat bellow your bmr, that'll only result in your metabolism lowering. If your goal is only to lose 2 lbs, then burn 500 calories from exercise every day and it should take around 2 weeks to lose 2 lbs.
