Best Diet to go on but to keep muscle and lose fat ?

Hi everyone. Im 20 year old male currently sitting at 12.5 stone. So of that weight is muscle and some of it is body fat mainly my lower stomach by my bottom abs, which I find hard to burn ive had like that section of fat for years and it wont go. I was wondering what the best diet would be to lose majority of body fat but at the same time try and keep the muscles I have pretty big shoulders triceps biceps and legs I just want that six pack now :P any help tips pointers etc would be great. Willing to diet for months if necessary :)

The mentality on going on a diet to lose the weight that you want is very short termed. No doubt you will find one that will help you lose the weight, but guess what happens when you go back to your normal eating habits? You gain it back. You have to change your whole way of thinking of food for it to work, and yes, as corny as it sounds abs really are made in the kitchen, not the gym. I would suggest eating more protein and "good" fats and carbs (olive oil, fish, chicken, vegetables etc) You will want to eat small amounts frequently. This will keep your metabolism running and it will not store extra fat, but instead burn what you do have. (lower belly fat is very common).I would do a generous amount of cardio, but alternate between a running kind of cardio and lifting weights at a fast pace to raise heart rate.Hope this helps!
