That sounds like a fairly healthy and normal way to eat. Aspartame, preservatives; and the fact that low calorie is not no calorie. So you'd get less calories if you drank water over drinking a low calorie drink. "Dieting" doesn't have to be a revelation, you're not unlocking some secrets of the gods with a diet. You got things right, your diet is a good idea because you are smart and you figured it out. But you still have to come over the idea that a 'diet" is some complex plan and hard and fast, black and white rules and boundaries. Yes, you will lose weight if you eat some cherries vs a cherry flavored fruit pie. How many? IDK. That's between you and your body. Junk is not the status quo, leaving whole grains and fruits for some sort of freaks. Junk food is some sick marketing play on food. And if you don't want to play along with the marketing, that leaves you with... just food. Things that grow like fruits and grains and meats.
