Is the sugar in fruit healthier than the sugar in other foods?

I know fruit sugar is 'natural' but I know sugar has a thing for making you 'fat'. Is it only the sugar in foods such as chocolate, crisps, cake, ice cream, etc.. that can make you fat and gain weight or can fruit have the same affect? I am just confused and I barely eat foods such as ice cream and crisps but I want to start eating fruit more often, e.g. apples, strawberries and bananas :) thank you x x x

How to Effectively Lose Weight Through Lap Band Surgery

Recommended Answer:

Yes because it's not processed sugar like other foods and you do need sugar to survive so the sugar in food is the sugar that your body is meant to have

Other Answers:

  • Fruit won't make you fat
  • the sugars in fruit can only be processed by the liver, and once its full it get stored as fat
  • Hi ChloeFruit provides you with calories, primarily in the form of sugars/carbs. They are much better for you because besides these sugars they have loads of nutrients that your body needs, potassium, fiver, iron , vit c etc... junk foods like cake, ice cream and crisps are what are known as 'empty calories' and that is because they hold no nutritional value. You need calories because they are the fuel for your body to work normally, and for you to do all you do each day, but it is much better that you get them from healthy sources for the nutritional value, as opposed to through junk foods. The sugars are also different in those types of foods as they are processed sugars and are not broken down and used in the same way as the natural sugars in fruits.Stick with fruits and avoid empty calorie foods and you will be healthier and also FEEL much better.
