How to Lose Weight with Thyroid Problems
Recommended Answer:
How do you make sure you don't do this again? Eat more.I know how it feels. I have done this SO MANY TIMES. And seriously, that is nothing compared to some of the binges I've had. My binges are literally sweeps of the kitchen, and usually go something like half a jar of peanut butter (that itself is probably the equivalent to a pizza), bags of cookies, icecream, chocolate, bread, chips... I've estimated some of my binges have gotten anywhere close to 8000. I know that feeling. I know you feel like you want to scream and cry and you feel fat and disgusting. The only way you can prevent this from happening is to eat more. I know it sounds counterproductive but trust me, 1200 calories a day isn't enough for many many people. Your body needs fuel, and trust me, it can't burn fat when it is receiving so little nutrition, because it is becoming more efficient at burning the fuel it does get. They key is eating more and moving more. You do this, and you lose weight. I got to my HIGHEST weight by restricting and binging. I finally learnt how to maintain a balance, eat good, whole and healthy food, and the urge to binge isn't extreme when I do these things. With my eating habits, I never get hungry, because I let myself eat 5-6 small meals a day which keeps me satisfied instead of letting myself get ravenously hungry.I know it's hard, and you might read this thinking to yourself that you can keep going on 1200 and just resist the urge, but it is ridiculously hard to resist when your body gives in and you dive into a feeding frenzy of delicious, unhealthy food. And don't deprive yourself. I'm still losing weight, and I'm trying to maintain. It's because some nights I let myself eat what I want. Sometimes I probably eat a bit too much dinner and end up at about 2500. But the next day I get back on track. I don't over exercise to compensate, because that leads to more bingeing.I now eat 1800-2000 calories a day, and with exercise I lost 20 pounds. I'm now 110 (at 5'2). My advice? And please trust me, I've struggled with food for years and now all I want to do is help others not make the same mistakes I did. Don't burn it off with hours of walking. Go for some light exercise tomorrow, what you may usually do. Maybe a short run. Just move a little. Eat NORMALLY, but eat more than you have been. I'm telling you, you may gain some initial weight from change, but your body will thank you and trim down naturally.Proper weight loss is slow. I lost it over about 9-10 months. But it's so sustainable and so worth it.Good luck.Other Answers:
- You dont have an eating disorder. You were just restricting for so long that your body just wanted it so bad. Dont go throw up its terrible for u! Im not sure how many hours of walking it would take though, probably 8-10 or more.. Next time you want something have it! Just watch your quantities so you dont binge on it! (:
