How good I''m doing?

So I started going to the gym today and I''m male, 5''6, and weight 225lbs. I''m fat and I know it! Anyways today I did 20 mins on the lyptical, 20 mins on the treadmill and 20 mins on the bicycle. I figure I do that for the next 2 weeks and then work on muscle. So how much weight do you think I could loose if I''m eating right also? P.s. I go every other day.

It sounds alright but you may need to be a bit more drastic if you want to see results fast. I''ll describe to you what I do, bearing in mind I go to the gym 6 times a week.
I''m a 17 year old male (used to be 158lb''s at the start of January, now am 148lb''s) and what I do now currently loses fat like there is no tomorrow. First off I''ll talk about my diet. Since I''m serious about losing a fair amount of my body fat whilst preserving my muscle, I calculate how many calories I need a day (about 1800 for me) and then add on what I think I burn in the gym every day (about another 500) so thats 2300 daily calories needed for me. Now since I''m losing weight I''ll cut that to 2000/1900 daily calories. I''ll tally up a meal plan that I will carry out for the day and stick to it every day of the week.
But this isn''t the only thing I do, I fast for 16 to 18 hours of the day, the rest of the day I cram all of my meals into it. This is called intermittent fasting and when you get hungry whilst fasting, your body has no alternative but to burn the stored fat cells. Its only logical right? I make sure that I eat between 1pm (my first meal) and finish my last meal at about 7pm. Yes you''re skipping breakfast and it goes against all of what you have heard, but all of that is bullsh*t. You shouldn''t be eating 6 meals a day throughout the day if you''re trying to burn fat, because your body has no chance to burn fat if its constantly having food supplied to it. Yes it''s hard to not eat until 1 so I suggest you should start with an 8 hour window (11am to 7pm). Whilst fasting make sure you are constantly drinking water though other wise you will get very dehydrated.

Now for my gym sessions (when I get home from school at about 5pm), I start with a 10 minute warmup of uphill walking to get my bloodyflowing and then in the last few minutes hold a steady slow jog for about 2 minutes. Then depending what day it is I will start my workouts. Its best if you dedicate certain days to certain muscle groups because it gives you more of a plan and you will spend less time wasted at the gym thinking about what you want to do next. I finish my sessions with a 20 minute medium paced jog just so I can burn more of the calories I took in during the day. After all this its a 10 minute walk home and then I have my last meal at 6.30pm.

Hope you read this and dont disregard it because this is a solid dieting plan and its perfectly healthy. Just remember if you don''t make it hard for yourself, you are NOT going to see the results you want. I went from 18% body fat at the start of January to about 14% this day :)

All the best and good luck with your workouts whatever you choose to do,
- Mike
