Will eating only half of every meal make me lose weight?

Hi, I''m a 17-year old girl who''s 165cm tall and weights about 62k. Over the last years I''ve been gaining a lot of weight (I just to be really skinny as a kid). That''s mostly because I don''t have time to work-out or do sports (I''m to busy with school and even when I have some spare time, the gym is a 20m drive my mom won''t do). I also eat fairly unhealthy since I barely like any vegetables (only carrits, brocoli and caulilflower). And I snack all the time and drink to much soda. Now I''ve been tryin to cut out all the snacks (I replaced them with fruit) and the soda and I always take the stairs instead of the elevator, I fon''t stroll to my bus stop but I do the walk in I high tempo, I do some ab crunshes every morning and every night,... but I''m not seeing any change on the scale (in fact I''m still gaining weight). I''m never in charge of my own meals since I have breakfast and lunch at my grandma''s and dinner at school. I can''t decide what I eat but i can decide how much I eat of it. Now I noticed a lot of diet sites saying your body only neads half of what we normally eat, that it''s just out of habit that we finish the entire plate. Is this true and will it make me lose weight? Because I have no idea what do to and I find my body disgusting and I just wanna change something and prove to myself that I can. That I''m stronger than the sugar cravings, you know? Please give me some advice, it''d be much appreciated.

Recommended Answer:
eating smaller portions is fine but as long as you are getting your daily nutritional needs your body needs.
that means the right amount of protein, iron, calcium etc

if cutting meals in half means your cutting your calcium intake in half for example is not good.

  • I lost 5 pounds in 22weeks no kidding..
Check it out. and good luck
  • you''re body''s probably gaining weight because you''ve been walking faster and stuff and it''s gaining muscle. especially if you changed your diet. and trust me I though I hated all vegetables too. but there are a lot of good ones out there. I love advocados with hummus and onions on whole wheat bread. and grille asparagus with garlic and salt. there are so many veggies out there that you can''t try. eating unhealthy will get you no where fast. you should probably stick to a healthy diet. that way you can eat the full amount. people who eat half a meal tend to get hungry later anyways and over eat at the next meal. it doesn''t help anyone and those diets never work
