How to look skinnier than I actually am?

I've recently lost 20lbs. I went to the gym like crazy and ate right, etc etc. My cousin lost 50 lbs. I live in another state and I am going to visit family in about a week. They all know that I've been dieting and trying to lose weight. I used to be over 200lbs and now I'm almost in the 170's.. I want to look thinner. I put a ton of effort and work into losing weight and for some reason my body just isn't willing to work with me. I've been trying to lose weight for years. I've done crazy gym schedules (five days a week hour long sessions at the gym). At one time I practically turned vegetarian just to try to lose some weight.(I eat meat now though) At that time I did lose some significant weight but was overshadowed by another family member who lost even more. They told her how great she looked, showered her with praise. Some of them even bought her beautiful clothes. And me, they didn't even notice me. Despite the fact that I was only like 5-10 lbs heavier than she was at the time. I know I'm a heavier set woman and it's just how my body was built. But I don't want to be embarrassed. I have huge arms and shoulders, a chubby tummy, and big thighs. If it helps I'm an overly curvy hour glassed figure. I need something to wear that will actually look decent on me. Please help?

How to Help Your Dachshund Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

the answer with your time frame is going to be your clothing and maybe a new hair cut- you have a newer body 30 pounds is a big difference,so now most of your clothing probable doesnt fit the way it should take a good friend and head to a thrif store and restock try on different clothing and find what looks best. generally you will want something that draws the eyes to the bust, with a form fitted top or a belt around the middle to emphasize your smaller waist. without seeing pictures this is the best i can do.

  • One thing you could do is wear darker colors, wearing black always makes people look thinner then they actually are. Congratulations on the 20 pounds!! That's awesome, you should feel so proud.

How to not get bored on treadmill?

I tried music, but it didn't help. I tried watching TV and I would get distracted by the TV and not run as fast as I would want to. Any more suggestions? Or any other exercise ideas?

How to Lose Weight After Pregnancy

Not sure how long you've been at it, but if you are past the break-in period, you can start pushing yourself more, you will get a natural high from it. Don't over do it though, you don't want your brain equating pain to your exercise program. Music does help, but it has to be something that really gets you going and keeps you going song after song. You may want to switch up if you've been at this for a few months. Use the treadmill still, but start adding in other exercises, slowly increasing with them, and decreasing with the treadmill. You can make your own weights with gallon water bottles, they weigh about 8 pounds each, adjust accordinly, A sturdy stick in between, with long socks or rope tied to stop the weight from moving up the stick and another piece to keep it on. Used weights are cheap, find a used sporting goods store, this is the dead of summer, they will bargain. You want some real dumbells, it's the best way to go and you'll be able to do so many more exercises ( find a book or site, it's been 20 something years since I needed a book, and it's a bit costly because it's huge, but Arnold's BodyBuilding Encylopedia is very good for instructions to do exercises right. And with that, or with fitness magazines, they will help inspire you ( don't believe most ot the junk in those magazines, especially any products! They are crap! The pictures will inspire you some. And with music, headphones is everything, otherwise it doesn't really hit so deep. The number one rule for success with exercising is to keep it enjoyable, and that's on all levels. I hope you find a solution that will work for you. Cycling is a great exercise, because it's not boring unless you ride to slow. Let yourself break-in again, a few weeks at least, then start amping it up. If you stand instead of sitting, your legs will work much more. Always wear a helmet, because you should be really hitting the speed, always keep one ear open for traffic, and make sure drivers see you. Night Cycling is the bomb! At least for me, you own the whole world once everyone is sleeping. Just have a lot of flashy lights, so you don't get mistaken for a theif in the night. Think long-term about your health, it's a huge deciding factor in our life that will determine so much of how life plays out for us. See yourself 10, 20, 50 years from now, still going strong. You will learn to love exercise, it will be a treat!! And the benefits are so many, far beyond weight loss or muscle gain and building muscle isn't easy or fast, so don't expect that you'll turn into a muscle-monster, it doesn't work like that unless you use illegal steroids. And muscle is where it's at, because it needs calories around the clock, to do many things, including surviving.

  • Drink a monster/redbull they will keep you going!
  • run on the tredmill next to someone else
  • I normally watch TV or read as book.Anything mindless and time consuming seems to work ok.At the Gym I keep a eye on the cute looking Females.
  • Well talking helps either to yourself or to someone else. Thinking out loud isn't really "boring".
  • Wow u must either get bored easily or u reallly shouldn't be on a treadmill for so long
  • ill say it even though you said you tried it.... but just download your favorite music maybe even stuff you know all the words to so that when you listen to it you wont be thinking about running and maybe just sing along and before you know it those first 3 minutes will be done.. and so on and so on lol
