Why do I lose 5 lbs in a week just by NOT drinking soda?

I'm a guy, and I never care much about what I eat. I'm a size 33 waist, and I'm happy that way.I love soda! But sometimes I stop drinking soda for a few days, I simply don't feel like it.Every time I stop drinking soda for a week, I lose 5 lbs.I could easily lose more weight, if I wanted, but I feel just being a size 33. I don't feel a need to be a size 32 or less.I do wonder. What is it about soda? Why do I lose weight so quickly just for not drinking it.

Soda is horrible for you. Phase out of it slowly and then stop altogether. You are losing weight because you are no longer drinking all that sugar!Just cut out all the soft drinks. And don't switch to diet soda. It's poison.

  • Sada has many empty calories in it, because it is mostly made up of sugar, the sugar metabolizes and turn into fatty cells. When you cut out this massive sugar intake, your body adjusts and allows you to burn off fatty cells because the main source of them is cut out of your diet.
  • I think it must be because you are taking in less sugar

I *love* chia seeds. Add them to everything. You won't notice them in anything but it adds bulk (that is mostly water) add to sugar free yoghurt, tuna salad, soups, stews, whatever.I add chia seeds to Walker Banana Cream Diet Meal Replacement Drink which is only 1g net carbs, is delicious & makes an awesome pudding from vitacost.com Vitacost is also the cheapest source I've found for vitamin D3 & vitC - you can also get chia seeds http://www.vitacost.com/Referee?wlsrc=rsReferral&ReferralCode=2287858I add ground flax seed, chia seed or raw sunflower seeds to about everything. They are all incredibly nutritious. Chia seeds swell up when soaked and remind me of tapioca with a strawberry seed inside. They really have no taste but I love the texture. No whole grain compares on a nutritional level, and it has an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) that is greater than blueberries on a per-gram basis (80 micromole TE/d). I let them sit on the counter to soak for 12 hours this germinates them and raises the ORAC level 2.5x higher.I think they are much more nutritious raw and add them to salads & tuna as well as making faux tapioca regularly. I also add them to cooked food for bulk but prefer to use flax seed for cooked food. Flax seed has a slight taste to it but chia seed is tasteless so it doesn't change the flavor of foods the way flax seed would. In Mexico, they add chia seed to lemonade and call it chia fresca and it is addicting. 1# of chia seeds will make 10# food. I make a "porridge" as suggested by Dr.Mercola with low carb whey powder & water, I add ground flax seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, coconut milk, tahini (ground sesame seeds) & raw egg. All seeds & nuts are raw & soaked to germinate them. Lately I've been mixing in cod liver oil to virgin coconut oil & adding in soy sauce & miso before adding mayo & all the other items.Faux tapioca - 2 cups of water, 5 scoops of low carb whey protein powder, stir together & add cup of chia seeds, after they have started to absorb the water, add in 2 cans of coconut milk & sweetener if you like and mix it all in. Can be eaten after an hour but will be better tomorrow. Cream a pkg. of cream cheese into a can of pumpkin and add to the faux tapioca for an even more nutritious pumpkin pie pudding.Ground flax seed or chia seeds (4 Tbsp) 1/4 cup water, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min. to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle & nuke 2 minutes. • I eat chia seeds a couple times a week. They can be used in smoothies, yogurt, granola, oatmeal, etc. They also can be used to replace eggs in recipes! If you take 1 tsp of chia and add to it 3 tsp of water and let it set for 5 minutes it becomes an egg like consistency. Chia is supposed to be good for energy. I have never eaten them plain so I am not sure you want to try that, but I have tried them in what I listed above and use it to replace eggs in many baked goods and some meals. You can include them in a Pre-Workout smoothie so you will benefit from the energy they give you. For example, blend 1 cup frozen fruits, 1 cup juice or liquid of your choice, and 1/2 cup yogurt with a serving of chia for a smoothie.

Go to this link Eat as it say.http://www.cool-health.com/10-foods-that-help-women-shed-that-belly-fat/This is you should not eat1. SodaSoda is not only unhealthy for you, it increases belly fat. It has empty calories that add excess weight. Soda also provides large amounts of sugars. This sugar comes in the form of high fructose corn syrup and other additives. Your body has a hard time burning this sugar off, especially in the mid-section. High fructose corn syrup is known to make you obese. This obesity is more apparent in your abdomen. You may think that diet sodas are better, but they also contain artificial sweeteners that contribute to bad health. It's best to drink pure water to lose your belly fat.2. DessertDessert may be your favorite part of eating any meal, but it can add many calories to your diet. Even low calorie and reduced fat desserts should be eaten in moderation. Most desserts have refined sugars. These sugars lead to weight gain. Consider eating healthy fruits instead of cakes, cookies and candies.3. Fast FoodFast food is the worse type of food to eat when you're trying to lose belly fat. Those burgers, shakes and fries have large amounts of calories, fat and carbohydrates. None of these things are nutritious. Most fast food is cooked in fatty oils. This type of oil contributes to obesity, a leading cause of health problems.4. Whole, Low Fat and 2% MilkWhole milk is an excellent source of calcium and other nutrients, but it also has a high fat content. As an adult you really don't need whole milk unless you have problems gaining weight. You should drink skim or 1% milk to avoid belly fat and maintain your healthy weight. Low fat milk or 2% milk both have a significant amount of calories and fat. Whole milk has about 9g of fat.5. Potato ChipsOne of your favorite snacks may be giving you belly fat. Most potato chip brands are cooked in hydrogenated oils. This type of oil is called a trans fat. Trans fat is known to increase cholesterol, contribute to heart disease and increase weight. Chips that don't contain hydrogenated oil may have high amounts of fat from other oils they're fried in. There are baked and low fat potato chips on the market that make better choices. However, be aware of the calorie count. High calories still contribute to belly fat.6. PancakesPancakes make delicious breakfast items, but they have large amounts of calories and fat. Eating this food is worse when you top it with syrup. Even light pancakes contribute to belly fat. Avoid this food and enjoy whole wheat waffles instead. Whole wheat helps lower belly fat.

I have a pretty fat stomach and thighs. will jump roping 10 minutes a day help me lose some of the fat? or 15 minutes? If so, how long will it take? please dont give me the "you dont need to lose weight" bullshit. my diets not bad but I could change it. How to Lose Weight Without Relying on Exercise

The extra swimming you do is great and will really help you tone your body and muscles. The best thing you said here is jump roping. Not only is it incredible for burning fat and losing weight but the act of jumping at your age will help you grow taller which in turn will make you look leaner. As for the diet at your age simply don't overdo anything and replace maybe 1 or 2 bad choice you have per day with a healthy thing you like. For example I love strawberries and I also love chocolate. I replace the chips with a bowl of strawberries and the bowl of chocolate ice cream or chocolate bar with a 90 cal fiber one chocolate brownie. Remember unhealthy food are only going to give you temporary happiness. You eat them then the happiness is gone. Make smart choices with your food and keep up the jump roping you'll be in the best shape of your life within 2-3 weeks trust me.

  • Any exercise/workout, as long as it burns more calories than you consume, will help you lose weight. So the answer is that it depends on how much you are eating.
