Loosing weight by eating right and exercising?

Okay, so I'm 18, male, and about 5'9 and weigh about 200 lbs. most people suggest I weigh 180 and are surprised when I tell them I weigh 197. But I do. Anyways, I'm thinking about starting Nutrisystem and buying a treadmill. My closest gym is almost an hour away and it would make more sense to just buy one for home use. So combined with each other - Nutrisystem and running on the treadmill, will I loose weight? I really want to weigh about 130-140 lbs, about how many years and months would you suggest this will take? And about how much should I be running and for how long?I read about treadmills and everyone mentions target heart rates? It's 220-age for men? But how do I know when my heart rate is that high and when will I know? I'm very determined to loose all this weight I just need guidance first. Thank you.

How to Lose Weight After Pregnancy

Have to agree with some of the other posters. Cardio is just NOT a good weight loss partner. Weight lifting packs many benefits, more muscle means you burn more calories throughout the day! Also as a 18 year old male some definition and tone will look fr better than skin and bones. :)Some of the young males that come into our gym that are new to working out an asking for weight loss help are strongly encouraged to use free weights for building. In addition to the weights for building we recommend crossfit, GRT, combat cardio type classes or routines for toning and "quicker" slimming. These type routines should be started in moderation until you are sure of what your body can do safely. If you are wanting to look into purchasing "equipment" look at any of the following workout video collections; P90x, tap out, insanity .... Love all 3! Diet: More protein and fewer carbs - the carbs you do intake should be of the fruit and mostly veggie variety ;) Hope this helps!!

  • DON'T WATE MONEY ON THOSE! You can buy you're own foods to make homemade healthy meals and it will save you money, and even more a treadmill doesn't work as effective as running outside, with the outdoors it's not all just flat, there are hills and stuff that are better for your legs that help with weight loss. Those food diet programs are a waste of money. So is a treadmill
  • I'd get some adjustable dumbbells instead of a treadmill. Cardio is over-rated for losing weight unless you are doing HIIT training. You can lose weight through strength training plus tone up at the same time. Nutrisystem is a waste. Just get a big bag of chicken, tuna, frozen vegetables, fruit and other sensible choices and you can clean up your diet easily.
  • A whole treadmill is a rather expensive choice. Dont you have any nature to run in? That said, running alone wont help you. Its what you eat that counts. To put it very simple, calculate your daily calorie needs using a calorie calculator on google (or use the default 2200 calories a day), then withdraw 300 calories from this. You will have to actually make sure you are not above this calorie limit (nor should you be too low, that will cause starvation and/or fat saving phases and you wont lose a pound). Running comes in as extra calories burned from the day, but have no effect if you are not actually removing some calories from your day.
  • My weight was 202 Lbs, 6 months ago. current weight 187. I did a BMI at first to know my body fat was 32%. Thats obese.Ive got it all the way down to 27% in 4 months and 19% in 2 months. The last two months is when i changed my eating habits. I eat very low fat, high protein, low carbsNow coming to the workout, i never did a treadmill. Its old school brah...HIIT(High intensity interval training) or circuit trainingThe idea is to bring your heart rate up till the sky as if you are gonna die. (NO YOU CANT KILL YOURSELF)You can google it or youtube it. I suggest you start in some groups so that you get the enough motivation and knowledge on how to do it. Its easy. Just putting the usual workouts in a better and new way.I can suggest you Dr. Jim Stoppanis Shortcut to shred program. Sorry, its not a shortcut as it sounds. Basically, its a combination of strength and cardio workout. So you do a cardio and weight training within 45mins timeframe.Tip: Stop worrying your weight. Worry about your body fat%. Youve got to do a BMI for sure.Check this out - http://www.builtlean.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/body-fat-percentage-men.jpgDaily calorie intake, within 1600-1800 to shed some safe weight.FYI, Patience is key.
  • Most people suggest I should be white and stop asking questions. Doesn't mean I have to do it. Don't get a treadmill, make it a habit to go running outside. I just don't see a big change happening when your huge effort is about going out to buy something to stay at home. You can find somewhere to jog or just go for a nice walk on a summer morning. It doesn't have to be super crazy every day. If you can still talk and breath, you're are at your target heartrate, you don't need to by crazy monitor either. When you're puffing, that means you are anaerobic and burning today's, food, not fat. And eff nutrisystem too. Don't you see how you're just trowing money at things and hoping one of them will save your soul? What makes you better is being better on the inside. Studying dance, I have to find it inside me to figure out how to feel my leg coming up a little higher. I don't just buy a new shoe and hope for the best. You're goal to lose weight is in feeling how to push yourself. When you're tiered that's when you start working, that's when it counts. When you've run so far and have to come back. That's my suggestion to you. Go for a simple, quiet walk. Go as far as you can in one direction so you'll have to do twice as much as you think you can. The pain really does stop after a while. It's your job to trust yourself and your body and know how to use it and stop being a victim of it. As an anecdote, I used to have a tee shirt that said "Losing is nature's way of telling you, you suck." You choose to lose when you let the pain win.

How to Suggest That Your Girlfriend Lose Weight

I just finished my Junior year! For me, sophomore year was a lot faster and had much more work than my freshman year. Freshman I was seeing about 1 hour of homework every night sophomore year I was seeing 3+ hours every night. Keep in mind I was taking all AP classes so if you aren't it may be different. Overall, though, be prepared for more work!I personally keep a slim envelope folder for each of my 7 classes, and it worked very well because it took up less space and kept everything very organized. I'd say in your case, keep 4 separate binders for your classes, it'll make things less confusing and you'll avoid the risk of mixing up your work! The other person said to study up for SAT classes, but I think that's a bit overkill. I would take the PSAT test, which is pretty much a preview for the SAT, and see how you do. If you do worse than you'd like, maybe you could look into a tutor or SAT classes. If you do fine and like your results, I'd say just study regularly, but don't make too big of a deal of it. I took SAT classes junior year, then took my SAT 4 months later, and I got a 2200 out of 2400.My advice is to have fun! Sophomore year, I actually met way more people than I did freshman year, and I made tons of new friends. Aside from that, make sure to stay ontop of all your work, even if you're absent from class. If you start to procrastinate or just not do your work, it'll start to pile on!Good luck with your sophomore year, and hope you enjoy it! :)
