I am only 164 cm (5"4) and weigh 87kg !! CRAP :(?

OK, a year and a half ago I weight 61 kg and was happy with that, then I started uni full time and so my exercise and diet became less important than my studies. Presently I weigh 87 kg and am only 5"4, I asked my doctor what I should do about it and she said it wasn't that bad!! but I know it's bad! So basically I am asking for tips on how to lose weight (QUICKLY) and also if you have lost weight could you share your success story :)p.s I should probably mention that- I am a stockier build (or curvier) and don't actually have fat rolls,- People tell me that I don't need to lose weight (they don't know how much I weigh and im pretty sure they are just being nice) - I have gone from an Australian size 10 to an Australian size 14-16 :(Ok let me re-word this, I used to be 61 kg (134 pounds), but I have put on 26kg and NOW I WEIGH 87kg (191 pounds) .

Sigh. I totally feel you.I went from 50kg to 62 in a single school year! crazy. I had lost 5, but then gained 15!However, this was from following crazy diet fads that starve you and pretty much kill your metabolism.I fell into a cycle of binge eating since I was also using food to cope with stress and studies.Anyway, I'm still in recovery phase, but I've come a long way in terms of knowledge.I've researched foods, diets, workouts, exercises, metabolism, eating disorders.I really wanted a change and I wanted to learn everything I could.I tried so many diets that made me so upset when I failed them, so many pointless 'workout programs' of crunches x 1000000anyway. Now I follow IIFYM, a flexible dieting system. I eat healthy, but also enjoy an occasional treat if I've been doing well throughout the day. I find ways to cope with stress like working out, listening to music, punching stuff. I workout as often as possible- I find lifting weights is a great way to relieve stress and also manage weight. I havent lost any weight yet, but I'm staying away from the scale so i don't feel bad. I think it's more important to commit to something in order to see results.I think the hardest part with weight loss is patience. It hard to keep going when you can't see results, but you've got to stick to it and just enjoy the process :)

  • It's actually a fine weight for your height. 61kg is 134 pounds. You could just exercise to get rid of fat. In turn, you will lose weight.
  • shit girl I'm 5'8 and 132 your not that bad.You could weigh like 180. That would be bad.You just have a bit of chub. Maybe you could do yoga? does not take a lot of time and you can do it at homeTrust me. I used to think I was fat because all my friends weigh 120 and I'm 5'8 and weigh 132 but when I did yoga it gave me the appearance of weighing 120!

What's a good brand of dog food to feed?

I have 2 small breed dogs that are 1. I feed taste of the wild but its a bit on the fattening side (roasted fowl 18% fat) anyways my Pomeranian started gaining a little weight from this food I've noticed (he isn't huge but he has gained a little) they do get walked 1-4 miles a day about 5 days a week. Anyways I'm not interested In raw but just high quality kibbles. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, most grain free foods are high in fat, so they might not be the best choice for you little guys. The exception is Blue Buffalo. They have a grain free food called Wilderness and it comes in a weight management formula.. It has 10% fat. A better choice might be their 'Healthy Weight' Life Protection formula. It does have brown rice in it, but it has only 6% fat.

  • I feed Taste of the Wild - the one with the Salmon. My Icelandic Sheepdog and my Keeshond each get 1/2 C twice a day and are in excellent weight.
  • pedigree and alpo
  • Try Orijen Or Acana regionals. http://www.orijen.ca/A commercial raw is also a healthy Choice:Primal raw frozen grinds Vital essentials Ziwipeak http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2010/07/21/13-pet-foods-ranked-from-great-to-disastrous.aspx
  • You have quite a few of high quality kibble options, here are a few:1) Orijen - great food, high in protein, grain free, GMO free, locally sourced ingredients from free range animals, no recalls ever that I am aware of. This is what I feed my dogs. Many varieties - puppy, puppy large, adult, six fish, and regional red. 2) Acana Regionals - made by the same company as Orijen, grain-free, slightly lower but still high protein. Comes in Pacifica, Grassland, Ranchlands, and Wild Prairie. 3) Blue Buffalo Wilderness - easy to find, high protein, grain-free. Not sure where ingredient come from but an easy choice for the average dog owner. Lots of variety as well. 4) Wellness Core - easy to find, grain-free, high protein, GMO free. Some variety as well - puppy, adult, large breed adult, reduced fat, small breed, ocean, and wild game. I have heard this is lower cost than both Orijen and Blue Buffalo Wilderness. Other options are: Merrick Grain-Free, Natures Variety Instinct with Raw Boost, I and Love and You Nude Food, Go! Fit&Free. I would feed less, the fat really isn't that high when it comes to a high quality dog kibble.Wellness Core Wild Game is 16% fat. That might be an option, although I don't suggest anything under 15%. http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/product-details.aspx?pet=dog&pid=157&dm=grainfree#guaranteed-analysis
  • I feed my dogs Earthborn natural dog food. It's really expensive but it's all worth it.-healthy-not fattening-good for the fur-
  • http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/This is the best dog food advice I have read.Highly energetic dogs should be fed a high protein food like the one you are using for your little dogs. Too much protein for your dogs and this makes it hard on their liver and kidneys. I have 5 at home, all small. I was using Blue Buffalo Healthy Weight (lower fat content) for small breeds until my Dad's dog came to stay. Thinking she has a grain allergy and switched to Wellness Core Healthy Weight.
  • I feed my dog pedigree chum he eats it up as soon as i put it down and it don`t make him fat.
  • Keep feeding what you're feeding, BUT FEED LESS of it.....problem solved.
  • Personally, I feed my mom's shih tzus Nutro Ultra. It is all natural with no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. It also has no corn, wheat, or by-products. Ultra is also a holistic formula so it will have ingredients such as blueberries, cranberries and pomegranates which are high in antioxidants which are great for your dogs immune system. It also has chicken, lamb, and salmon which makes the food smell more, and helps dogs to love their food. My mom's dogs are crazy for it and they are extremely healthy. My mom is likes how Nutro makes all of their own foods in their own USA facilities and do over 600 quality checks each day. I hope that helps!GeoffreyPet Nutrition Specialist for The Nutro Company

Can I be gaining weight because I might be depressed?

Recently, I've had a dramatic change in my life. I got out of a 4 year relationship with someone. The relationship didn't end very well. Basically, he dropped me out of his life, like I didn't exist, this eats away at me everyday and it's been a whole year. I barely eat, but I've put on some weight, my mom has noticed it just as much as I have. Could it possibly be that I'm depressed of stressing over this break up and it's causing me to gain weight? Can I also have depression or possibly get depression from this? I'm constantly telling myself that I'm no good and that no guy would ever want to date me cause of my weight gain. I was a size 135 throughout my relationship and then when it ended I gained 20 pounds and it's always on and off. I do workout but I don't see much of a change at all. I've cut out all sweets and sugars and yet nothing. Can someone please help me out with this, I'm tired of feeling sick about eating or feeling guilty and feeling like no guy will ever date me again because I have gained so much weight. Honestly anything will help.. Thank you.

You gained weight because you ate more calories then you are burning, it simple math. I'm not trying to be a rude, just straight up. You need to start doing cardiovascular exercise, everyday for 20-30 minutes. Why? Cardio has been proven over and over to reduce depression, reduce stress, reduce bodyfat, heart healthy and over-all sense of well being, what's not to like? Also drink lots of water especially before eating. Drink a large glass of water before each meal and you will eat less because the water will fill you up and eating less means weight loss. Also eat lots of high fiber foods, it'll keep you full longer without binging. Fruits, veggies, whole grains and beans have copious amounts of fiber. Also getting 8 hours of sleep is very important for weight loss. Good Luck!!

  • Yes. It is proven that stress makes you put on weight. I'd suggest that you start doing yoga - it will help you relax and will dramatically reduce your stress. It's best to find a good yoga teacher and visit his lessons.
  • Well depression is one of the main causes of weight gain. Once you get in depression you start eating more as a result you gain weight. The foremost solution to lose weight is to do regular exercise and follow a balanced diet plan. Your calorie intake should be less than what you burn. Also to make your weight lose process easy and quick, you can use some fat burners such as Usp labs OxyElite pro super thermo. It is a thermogenic fat burner that produces heat to burn more calories. With this you can burn more calories even for a little workout. My cousin brother had used and he got amazing results. He lost 10lbs in just 3 weeks. It is absolutely safe and has no side effects at all. Along with it, you also need to do some sort of exercise and take a balanced diet. Try avoiding food stuff that has high calories values. Go for food stuff that has less calories values. If follow a strict diet and workout plan along with OxyElite pro super thermo, then there would be no excuse of nit reaching to your goal of weight lose.

Will this diet work for me? Please help?

Ok so I'm 13 years old, 6ft tall and weigh 269lbs. I was thinking of eating 1600 calories a day and drink about 70-90oz of water daily. Ill walk my dog at a fast pace for 1 hour a day, and most nights ill do sit-ups, push-ups,squats and etc. Using dumbbells as I get stronger. Do you think I would achieve weight loss with this? I'm trying to loss maybe 60lbs? By next February. Also I know when obese people diet they loss weight very fast at first. So how many pounds do you think I'll lose in the first month? Btw my bmi is 36.4

How to Help Your Dachshund Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

The key to fat loss is not exercise, it's diet.Any exercise will burn calories but no exercise will burn fat unless your diet allows it. You can burn fat in your sleep or you can run all day and never burn any fat. It all depends on your diet. Fat loss is determined by calorie control, not by exercise. Good exercises for burning calories are speed walking, biking, swimming, dancing, etc. and ANY other physical activity which makes you move a lot of weight for a long time. But NO exercise is good for burning fat if you eat too many calories because you can always eat more calories than you can burn but you can't always burn as many as you take in.Too many people waste energy and time because they do not understand this one simple point. The result is too often giving up in frustration, abandoning gym memberships they continue to pay for, and many other unnecessary problems not the least of which is a lack of success. An average person must walk about five miles every day for a week to burn the calories equivalent to a pound of body fat. So, unless you think walking about five miles a day (or doing an equivalent amount of exercise) with no guarantee of fat loss makes sense, focus your fat loss program on diet.Diet for fat loss. Exercise for fitness. To find out how the best minds in nutrition in the world (at the US NIH) have recommended for decades we lose fat, read my answer about how to lose fat --> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As615QJM4X_3ID9_05qmmlXty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20111028185603AAVcP4D Here's your BMR --> http://www.calculator.net/bmr-calculator.html?ctype=standard&cage=15&csex=m&cheightfeet=6&cheightinch=0&cpound=269&cheightmeter=180&ckg=60&cactivity=1&x=0&y=0 . You should eat at about your BMR level of daily calories. You will need to recalculate your BMR as you lose fat because it changes with weight. You should avoid "crash" dieting...eating too little. What you should be doing is making a life long change in your eating habits while losing fat slowly...only a pound or two per week. If you think in the short term and watch the scale just waiting for the fat loss to show, you'll be undermining your commitment to a lifestyle change. Short term losses don't mean anything when you think about how you're going to look in 10 years or at age 40 and beyond. Fat loss is about health, living a long time, and being fit to enjoy all those years. At age 13, body image is all that's important but that alone will not keep the fat off in years to come. Just look around at all the fat adults and you'll see what I mean. Only one out of four adult American has a healthy body weight.Good luck and good health!!♠PS: Here are some good websites you may find useful.• BEST SEARCH ENGINE http://www.usa.gov• A MUST FOR DIETERS http://www.freedieting.com/• BEST DIET TOOL ON THE WEB http://www.myfitnesspal.com/• BEST FOODS FOR YOU http://www.choosemyplate.gov/index.html• NUTRITION DOT GOV http://www.nal.usda.gov/food-and-nutrition
