What does a proper diet consist of?

I'm 15. 6'9. 195 pounds. I've been walking an hour a day for 6 days a week. I also do 3 sets of 25 squats(75) per week for 6 days, 3 sets of 25 sit-ups(75), and 4 sets of 25 push-ups(100).I am trying to lose 40 pounds and I don't care how long it takes as long as I make progress and reach my goal. What should I eat everyday and what should I avoid. I don't eat fast food or desserts. I eat 2-3 meals per day.
