Questions about fasting?

If you're going to give me crap about fasting being unhealthy; just stop. I'm not listening to that. I need advice not criticism. So I originally planned on fasting for 2 days. I'm going on a restrictive diet, and I thought fasting a couple days beforehand would help clear my system of junk food.During the fast I drink only water and plain tea, with the exception of a absolute zero monster in the morning which is a zero calorie monster drink. I thought the Monsters have vitamins, lots of caffeine, will give me more energy. But no gum, or any diet sodas. But I've read some studies and stuff online and they suggested 2 days won't make a difference. I want to know if I should go for 3 days then?I just need to know what would benefit me the most in terms of weight loss & detoxing. And I will lose weight, as I know how to come off a fast and have exceptional self control.

How to Be Lazy and Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

If your male I say go ahead and fast for 3 days. Men can handle longer fasts. If your female I wouldn't go longer than 24 hours. Women do not handle long fasts as well a men. A way to help you lose weight without the stress is shorter daily fasts. For example I fast from around 5pm to around 11am. So I have an eating window of 6 hours a day and I fast for 18 hours. As far as detoxing, your body is always detoxing. To help it you can eat real food and stop eating junk. A long fast may or may not help but its not necessary. Also, if your worried about detoxing, don't drink a monster. That's processed garbage. If you need a boost try coffee.

  • Sorry if this sounds kinda mean but im trying not to be. Okay so fasting for 2 or 3 days will lose you about 5 or more pounds. Your body loses that many pounds because your body is used to eating and it goes into starvation mode. This causes the body to eat away muscle mass to survive. When you go back to eating start eating a little less so you dont gain it all back right away. Hope I helped(:
