Is it normal to not lose or gain weight?

I've been thin my entire life, but I also love food, so I tend to eat alot. I never gained from it, so I figured it was just my metabolism. In fact, I have stayed around the same weight since I was 13 or 14.Well, last year was my first year in college and I thought things were going to change. For a few months I was barely eating because I didn't like the school food, had no car to get food, and was too lazy to eat more than like crackers or small portions of soup lol. I thought my metabolism was going to get messed up, but I did not LOSE any weight. When my friend got her car, we started going out to eat alot and her mom would cook for us. My friend noticeably put on a few pounds, and I thought I would too since I figured I messed up my metabolism, but I stayed the SAME weight! Why? Is it still thanks to my metabolism, or does my body want to stay that weight?

How to Lose Weight Fast at Home

I suppose it could be because your system has reached a nearly minimal weight and your metabolism is too fast to let you gain weight. If you don't have fat then you won't lose weight (much) and if you eat with a fast metabolism then you would have a harder time gaining weight. But I am not a doctor, so I couldn't give you a straight answer

How can I come out of the "starvation period" without gaining back all the weight?

I have been on a 200 calories a day diet for the last 3 months, and I've lost quite a bit of weight. I actually feel good about myself for the first time in years. Anyways, how can I ease my way back into eating normally (like 1000 calories a day) so that the weight doesn't all come back? I understand at least a little bit of it will, but I don't want all of it back, or even half. Any tips, diets, or exercises will be greatly appreciated :) p.s. I'm a 15 year old girl

Congratulations on your weight loss! Here are some foods and workouts you can try:Eat Only Whole FoodsBecause you're giving your body what it recognizes as the cleanest fuel, it will digest and metabolize it more easily. If Mother Nature didn't make it, don't eat it. This means your carbs include whole grains, fruit, dairy, and starchy vegetables; proteins include beans, meat, cold water fish, poultry, and eggs; and healthy fats include nuts, seeds, and oils like canola, olive, and hemp.Get BitterDon't get all "Eww, bitter!" on me just yet. Another healthy way to lose pounds fast (or maintain ideal weight) is to simply eat one serving of bitter-tasting food, per meal, for three meals a day. These pound-shedders include kale, arugula, olives, almonds, miso, collard greens, mustard greens, radish, dandelion leaves, and radicchio. Mix them into an omelet, soup and other foods you like. Get creative!Make the Most of Your TimeWe've all heard that it's good to be as active as you can with everyday activities -- but what if you went even further and turned those already-helpful everyday activities into interval training? "Intervals keep your heart rate going for maximum burn, and studies show that it's much more effective than steady state cardio for fat burning," says Kristin McGee, celebrity yoga and fitness expert. Two ideas: 1. When brushing your teeth in the morning and before bed, do 50 squats both times, as quickly as you can without dribbling toothpaste all over your bunny slippers. Though brushing and squatting might take some practice, form here is key. "Sit back in an imaginary chair and be sure your knees don't go past your toes," McGee says. "Stand back up squeezing your glutes (bottom)." 2. When yapping on the phone, do heel raises. Stand with your feet in ballet first position, heels together and toes turned out, and rise to your toes and then lower down. Do this every time you get a call, or even if you find yourself stuck in a bank or grocery line. "Heel raises are discreet, and you can do them throughout the day, all day long." She suggests 20 reps, five times a day. This way, you can keep any pounds that want to creep back away for good! Hope this helps, there are more tips in the blog below. Good luck!

  • Its really unhealthy to have a diet such as this, But to bounce back into a normal diet is to eat small portions of healthy stuff. you might gain all the weight back on, that's why many people recommend just exercising and a healthy diet. Start a beginner workout and eat a balanced diet, you will gain a bit more weight, but you cant go back into the starvation period since it'll just be a vicious cycle. :)
